It is very important the fact that many are considered carcinogenic agents that are manageable by man. In this sense, to know the relationship between a type of cancer and a particular factor, we can direct our efforts towards the elimination of the agent.
To this end measures should be taken as:

* No smoking
* Avoid exposure to sunlight for a long time (people with white skin or sensitive).
* Maintain adequate genital hygiene.
* Controlling the consumption of alcoholic beverages. Avoid excessive drinking.
* A proper diet rich in vegetable fiber, fruit and low in fat.
* In the broad risk groups such as workers in certain industries, take appropriate precautions to protect and maintain medical control.
* Avoid exposure to radiation (X-rays, etc.). It can eventually cause disorders

The current broader sense of the word dates from 1961.

In sociology, a lifestyle is the way a person lives. A lifestyle is a characteristic bundle of behaviors that makes sense to both others and oneself in a given time and place, including social relations, consumption, entertainment, and dress. The behaviors and practices within lifestyles are a mixture of habits, conventional ways of doing things, and reasoned actions. A lifestyle typically also reflects an individual’s attitudes, values or worldview. Therefore, a lifestyle is a means of forging a sense of self and to create cultural symbols that Resonate with personal identity. Surrounding social and technical systems can constrain the lifestyle choices available to the individual and the symbols she / he is able to project to others and the self.

The lines between personal identity and the everyday doings that signal a particular lifestyle become blurred in modern society. For example, “green lifestyle” means holding beliefs and engaging in activities that consume fewer resources and produce less harmful waste (a smaller carbon footprint), and Deriving a sense of self from holding these beliefs and engaging in these activities.

More than one in four cancer cases are diagnosed lung and lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer deaths more common among men and women in the United States. In 2008 it is expected that more than 161 000 deaths from lung cancer, surpassing the number of deaths from breast, prostate and colon cancers combined.

At the same time, it is likely that many lung cancer cases are preventable. The inhalation of cancer-causing substances such as snuff smoke may cause changes in lung tissue shortly after exposure, this is called precancerous changes. However, the same cancer typically develops over many years, and if detected at an early enough stage can be eliminated by various treatments.

That’s the conclusion of Dr. Yehuda Shoenfeld, a physician and autoimmune disease researcher at the University of Tel Aviv in Israel, who studies “antibodies, a class of chemicals is launching attacks the body’s cells, often in patients with autoimmune diseases like lupus.

“Our scientific findings suggest that women who are depressed are also losing their sense of smell and may overcompensate by using more perfume,” he said.

Shoenfeld and colleagues used antibodies to cause depression in female mice and found that chemicals responsible defused the olfactory receptors for smell.

“Weight loss is one of the first signs of depression in patients with autoimmune diseases,” and “If you can not smell, do not eat because they enjoy the food, so if you do not eat, lose weight.”

But the link between depression and overly scented women limited only to patients with autoimmune diseases? Shoen-feld does not think so.

“Depression operates similarly in people who do not have a disease,” he said, which could explain why some men wear too much cologne after shave.

Whatever the case, Shoenfeld thinks that doctors should focus more on the nose with regard to the health of a person.

“We are aware of all the senses, but neglected the smell for a long time,” he said. “It was only three years ago that two scientists won the Nobel prize for deciphering the olfactory receptors in humans, so we still have much work to do what I think is an extremely important area for health”.

In some ways the report might sound redundant, but the treatment is called “taking care of himself” and is based on “not smoking, exercising regularly, eating a healthy diet and maintaining a healthy weight.

If smoking is allowed simply to prevent the possibility of lung cancer and a good amount of heart disease and just as eating right and exercising only brings benefits to all levels of health.

The pre-ta-gun is, What is new? But the key is in the cumulative protective effect provided by the four health factors. The research, published in the current issue of Archives of Internal Medicine, includes an assessment of over 23. 000 Germans and is part of a large European study in progress on lifestyle choices and disease.

A study by Michael Gurvan of the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his team, drew a remote Amazonian tribe in Bolivia is known as “Tsimane ‘, finding in them that no peripheral arterial disease increases with age in this population as opposed to risk factors found in industrialized countries, such as chronic inflammation and use of snuff.

The implication is that these risk factors become mortal only in the context of an unhealthy diet and an inactive lifestyle.

The olive oil has excellent culinary reputation and ranks as one of the key elements for cardiovascular health in the Mediterranean diet.

However, its benefits are greater now that new studies have found that olive oil is also good for eye health, as appears to prevent in particular, macular degeneration, a disease that affects the retina of older people 60 years and is the second leading cause of blindness in the elderly, after diabetes.

Olive oil has components that protect the blood vessels of the eyes and reduce the risk of vision loss, especially after age 50, experts added.

The results of two studies were published in the Archives of Ophthalmology.

The study by researchers at the University of Sydney and the Center for Eye Research Australia, tracked him to 9.234 adults who carried a Mediterranean diet rich in Omega 3 (found in fish, nuts and oil oil) and found that they were less likely to develop problems with the retina. Furthermore, we know that these eye problems are directly associated with nutrition.

How much olive oil should be consumed?

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the ideal is to take 2 tablespoons (23 grams) of olive oil daily. One important thing to note is that despite all the olive oils contain monounsaturated fat, those classified as “virgin” and “extra virgin” are more beneficial to a healthy heart and eyes, as they are the least processed and contain the highest levels of polyphenols, an antioxidant that is essential for health.

In addition, olive oil contains other anti-inflammatory components that help protect blood vessels in the eyes and reduce the risk to develop macular degeneration as they age.

The assertion is clear from a study of nearly 10,000, which revealed that those with high cholesterol between 40 and 50 years-a reading of 240 or more-had a 66 percent increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease 40 years later.

Meanwhile, people whose cholesterol was lower, between 200 and 239 – had a 52 percent increased risk of dementia in old age than those with lower levels, the team reported at the University of Kuopio in Finland and the Division of Research Kaiser Permanente.

“Our study shows that even moderately high cholesterol levels at age 40 put people at greater risk of (being) Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia decades later,” said a statement from Rachel Whitmer of the Division of Research Kaiser Permanente in Oakland.

“The good news is that what is good for the heart is also good for the mind and this is an early risk factor for dementia and may be modified and controlled by reducing cholesterol through healthy changes in lifestyle,” said Whitmer.

The chewing snuff and snus, which is consumed placed under the lip, also increases the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke, such as snuff to smoking, although many of its consumers take as a healthier alternative, according to the results of an investigation by the French Agency for Research on Cancer.

The study was based on a compilation of data from the U.S. and Sweden, two countries where most consumed this “smokeless snuff. In fact, the Nordic country is the only European Union where it is permitted sale.

Thus, in the United States has shown that this type of snuff causes 0.5 percent of heart attacks and 1.7 percent of deaths from stroke, while in Sweden the figure rises to 5 , 6 and 5.4 percent respectively.

However, Dr Paolo Boffetta, author of the research, it requires more studies that prove this relationship which, if true, “would have strong implications for clinical and public health.”

Researchers at Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, have managed to isolate the two antibodies responsible for disease resistance in an African man. These antibodies prevent many strains of HIV from multiplying in the body and end up producing the disease AIDS.

Furthermore, the discovery appears to be important, since these antibodies attack a portion of the HIV virus that had not previously taken into account for the manufacture of a vaccine, which means that in any case, the discovery opens new avenues research.

To carry out this study, scientists took blood samples from 1,800 people in Thailand, Australia and Africa, to be carried at least three years infected yet not shown any infection from the disease.

The antibodies isolated from African patients are PG9 and PG16, and together with able to block three-quarters of the 162 strains of HIV that have been tested.

Still, still years away from achieving the desired vaccine, since the interesting thing would be to create molecules that would create incentives that create these antibodies the body naturally. Either way these antibodies could be used in infected patients who are in more severe stages of the disease.
